Project Name: Feedback Control for Normal Force on Korry Friction Device
Team Members:
  • Kaitlin Butler
  • Julian Heinze
Faculty Contacts:
  • Professor Chris Byrne, WKU Electrical Engineering
  • Professor Doug Harper, WKU Physics
Synopsis

Modify the existing software for the Korry Friction Device, also called the TMI – Tactus Metrology Instrument, to incorporate feedback control to keep the normal force at a fixed constant value during a measurement cycle.

Project Name: Touchscreen Position Sensing
Team Members:
  • Jesse Finley
  • Stacy Hicks
Faculty Contacts:
  • Professor Chris Byrne, WKU Electrical Engineering
  • Professor Doug Harper, WKU Physics
Synopsis

Use a myRIO and a SPI or I2C based touch screen controller to develop an accurate and precise algorithm for detecting the position coordinates of touches on a resistive touchscreen.
