Academic Site License for National Instruments Software

licenseWKU faculty and researchers in the Ogden College of Science and Engineering have access to LabVIEW and related software tools from National Instruments via a college-wide teaching and research software license.  This agreement allows National Instruments LabVIEW software to be installed on any WKU-owned computer in Ogden College for educational or research purposes.  We have a membership the the NI Standard Service Program (SSP) which provides software updates with new and upgraded software twice per year, direct access to NI applications engineers for technical support, and unique training opportunities.

Some of the software included in this agreement are listed below.

  • LabVIEW Professional Development Environment
  • LabVIEW FPGA Module
  • LabVIEW Real-Time Module
  • LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Module
  • LabVIEW Vision Development Module
  • LabVIEW Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite
  • NI Circuit Design Suite (includes MultiSim and Ultiboard)

This license has been generously supported for many years by the Ogden College Dean’s Office, the WKU Office of Academic Technology, and the WKU Office of Research.

Professor Doug Harper of the WKU Department of Physics and Astronomy serves as the contact person for this agreement.  If you would like to install LabVIEW or other National Instruments software covered in our academic site license on WKU-owned computers using this license please contact Doug Harper in Physics and Astronomy (745-6194) or Ron Rizzo in Engineering (745-3152).

Student Install Option

Our license also allows students to install LabVIEW and MultiSim on their own personal computers.  A special serial number for students is generated each academic year.  WKU students who need access to LabVIEW should contact Professor Doug Harper for further information.

Free Online Training for NI Software

With our active software-subscription program for our Academic Site License we have free access to self-paced online training for all NI Software. To access this training you will need to create a login profile on www.ni.com and associate this profile with the serial number for our license.
