You will need to have an account on National Instruments at www.ni.com. This account will be required for:
- activation of your LabVIEW software,
- accessing online training material as you learn LabVIEW,
- accessing the badges and certification exams.
In order for the online training access to work properly you need to use your topper.wku.edu email address when activating the software.
If you already have an NI account you can skip this step and proceed to downloading and installing the software.
To create your NI account: ![]()
- Navigate to www.ni.com.
- Hover over the user icon at the top-right of that page (user icon style is shown to the right) and then select the
Create an Accountoption from the drop-down menu. - On the following page, enter your
topper.wku.eduemail address and pressContinue. Your email address will serve as your username atni.com. It is necessary that you use yourtopper.wku.eduemail address in order for the WKU student license to allow you to activate LabVIEW and to access the online training materials.
You will receive a six digit code at your email which you should enter on the next screen to verify your email account. 
- Complete the form (shown below) by entering your name and your desired password. Be sure to save your login credentials in a secure location.

- Answer No to “Are you an NI Partner?”. Then you will be prompted to enter some additional information to set up your account. Be sure to enter the organization as “Western Kentucky University”, enter the address as “Ogden College of Science and Engineering” and select “Student” as your Job Title.
