Objectives for Midterm Exam
- Understand the fundamentals of operation of the following actuators and sensors:
- Understand the fundamental differences between, limitations for, and how to implement Software Timed DAQ and Hardware Timed DAQ.
- Understand the capabilities of the myDAQ and the relationship between its specifications and the properties of the signals it can measure or generate.
- Understand how to use feedback to control a parameter to force it to reach a desired setpoint by using the built-in PID routines in LabVIEW. Understand PID and terms such as process variable, control variable, setpoint, and error.
- Understand the following LabVIEW design patterns:
- Understand different techniques to pass data between two loops running in parallel.
- Be able to write a program that will measure a voltage from your myDAQ, perform a simple computation, and plot multiple traces of data on a waveform chart.
