Waves and Packets Student Worker Needed
Charles McGruder works with the lead editor of Waves and Packets, a highly-regarded e-newsletter that aggregates physics and astronomy news from around the world. It is a joint publication of the African Astronomical Society (AfAS), the African Physical Society (AfPS), the National Society of Black Physicists (NSBP), and the South African Institute of Physics (SAIP). Waves and Packets currently has a global distribution of roughly 13,000 researchers and students, but it seeks to increase this number by a factor of 5 or so in the near future. To assist in this process, a student worker is sought who can collect email addresses from physics and astronomy departments around the world and save them in an Excel file. Dr. McGruder will provide the student with a list of university websites to examine. This work can be done at home or anywhere with internet access.
