Goldwater + NSF
The Goldwater and NSF scholarships are open for nominations of eligible students (see the message below). If you are eligible and interested, contact your faculty advisor ASAP about applying.
For the Goldwater, we’re looking for sophomores and juniors with GPA typically >3.7, research experience preferable, and an interest in a research degree and career. The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship is for seniors planning on attending graduate school; GPA is a little less important than Goldwater, but otherwise the student populations are going to be similar.The Goldwater site is active with the 2012 application (http://www.act.org/goldwater). The NSF has information for students at (http://www.nsfgrfp.org). Deadline for the latter is November 14-18 depending on the discipline. Goldwater, as usual, is at the end of January though the internal review occurs early in January.
For the NSF, simply refer the students to Audra Jennings and/or Kevin Williams (Chemistry). For Goldwater, contact Kevin Williams.
