Women in Physics Conference at Purdue, Jan 14-16, 2011
The Purdue University Physics Department is proud to announce the 4th Annual Midwest Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics. The conference will be hosted jointly with sister conferences at the University of Southern California, North Carolina State University, and MIT, and will start with a welcome reception in the evening on Friday, January the 14th and end the afternoon of Sunday, January the 16th. The conference will bring together successful female physicists and over 100 undergraduate women in physics to highlight the presence and scientific contributions of women in physics and will provide ample opportunities for networking with fellow physicists. Conference activities will include
- talks by professional physicists on their cutting edge research and personal career paths
- a career panel featuring several prominent women in industry to provide students with a glimpse of career opportunities outside academia
- a graduate student panel to give an insider view of the graduate school application process and the progression towards a doctoral degree
