2021 Sigma Pi Sigma Induction and Student Award Ceremony

Dear Friends,

You are all invited to a celebration of the many achievements of students in our department on Friday, April 16.  Each spring we traditionally hold a banquet to induct new members into Sigma Pi Sigma, the national physics honor society, as well as to recognize the accomplishments of our rising physics majors, our SPS chapter members, our graduating class, and recipients of named departmental awards.  This past year has been anything but traditional, but we still have a lot to brag about!  Thus, while it is not practical to have a banquet at this time, we would like to hold a Sigma Pi Sigma induction and award ceremony for all who are able to participate.  Please come join us!

The event will start at 3:00pm on Friday, April 16 in the Ogden College Hall Auditorium, Room 1006.  This is a large room with a socially-distanced capacity of around 60.  All health and safety protocols will be followed, and the ceremony will also be on Zoom for those who cannot be there in person (including students’ families).  Please mark your calendars and plan on attending — physically if possible — to show your support for the many fine students in our department.  A follow-up announcement will include access to the Zoom meeting ID and an electronic program.
