SPS March 2018 Meeting
Hello SPS Members!
This is a reminder that our next monthly meeting is this coming Thursday, March 1st, at 5:30 pm in EST room 206. As always we will have pizza and refreshments for those who join us. We will be discussing our upcoming plans for the SPS Spring Picnic and a new endeavor that the SPS club is helping to organize, the Ogden College Geek Week.
The SPS Spring Picnic is held during the spring semester every year and it is a great chance to engage with other SPS members and some of our finest physics professors. There will be sign-up sheets in both the SPS room and the physics department office beginning this week. Students are not required to bring anything but feel free to bring your favorite dish.
Last Thursday, our esteemed Vice President, James Pierce, and I met with other officers of different clubs within Ogden College. There is some interest in establishing an annual college-wide event amongst the different STEM clubs. We are still working on the details of the event but would like to discuss this amongst our club members and invite those interested to join us in helping to bring this even to fruition.
The SPS officers would like to hear our members input on these upcoming plans and any other ideas for SPS events this semester. Please remember to spread the word and invite your friends and classmates to attend the upcoming meeting or join the SPS club!
See you Thursday!
Zack Thomas
SPS President
SPS monthly riddle: There are three chests, each containing 100 coins. One chest has 100 gold coins, another has 100 silver coins, and the last has 50 gold and 50 silver. The catch: the chests are all labeled incorrectly. You may pull out just one coin from any of the chests, then you must identify which chest contains all gold coins. How do you do it?
