SARA REU
The Southeastern Association for Research in Astronomy is hosting an NSF REU program in the summer of 2012. Each SARA intern will work closely with a faculty mentor at one of the 10 SARA universities. In addition to observing with the SARA 0.9-m telescope at Kitt Peak in Arizona, summer activities will include social events, excursions, and workshops on many aspects of professional astronomy. Stipend support for the program is $4500. Housing is provided, and travel to and from the program is supported, as is an observing run at Kitt Peak National Observatory. For applications and further details, please see www.astro.fit.edu/sara-reu. The deadline for receipt of all materials is February 3, 2012. Appointments will be announced beginning March 1, 2012. If you have questions prior to applying and after seeing the online documentation, please contact Professor Matt Wood.
