You have the right and responsibility to get on your group member's case if he/she is failing to come to class or contribute in a meaningful way to the functioning of your group.  If you experience problems working together, first try to discuss it and work it out.  (Many problems are due to a lack of communication about expectations.)  If you can not resolve any problems within your group, you may come to me and I will try to help your group resolve your problems.  If a group member is a persistant slacker/trouble maker, there is a possibility of firing a group member as a last resort after going through a formal process, including giving notice.
