Pass the Truck II

You are traveling back to school on a two-lane country highway.  For the last 10 minutes you have been stuck behind a truck poking along at 45 mph (20 m/s), so you've been playing it safe and staying 10 m behind the truck.  Finally you come out of winding through some hills and reach straight section with a 200 m long passing zone.  Your estimation is that your car could at least accelerate at a rate of 1.5 m/s2.  Can you make it if you keep the same speed?  The truck ahead of you is 8 m long, your car 6 m long, and you need to be at least 5 m in front to safely pull back over.

Draggin'

You are talking with your cousin who is seriously into drag racing.  He claims his car can pull one 'g' from start to finish, and then slows down at half that rate.  You know he does have a fast car; last year he managed to drag you out to a race and he managed to cover the quarter mile track in 11.5 seconds.  However, you aren't really sure he is right, and it the idea of showing him up so he might shut up for a little while is attractive.  You also figure the total distance he would travel if that were correct to double check.
